John Roberts Receives MagneCote Certification

Minnesota printing company named a Charter Certified Printer for magnetic-backed substrate.

Minneapolis, MN- The John Roberts Company, a full-service web, sheetfed and digital printing company, has been named a Charter Certified Printer for MagneCote, a high-quality offset printing stock with a magnetic coating applied to the back. MagneCote certification was presented to John Roberts by NewPage, manufacturer of MagneCote.

“The versatility of this paper makes it very attractive to designers,” said Tony Hoholik, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for John Roberts. “It can be treated like any cover-weight stock, but the magnetic backing gives it much greater usage potential. We’ve already had customers use it for applications such as in-store displays, direct mail campaigns and catalogs.”

MagneCote is crafted from MeadWestvaco Sterling Ultra 100lb. paper, and can be printed, perfed, die-cut and folded. While MagneCote can be run through any standard press, certification is awarded to companies who have demonstrated proficiency in its usage. Read more

Xerox Workflow Software Helps Print Providers Profit from Print Jobs Submitted via the Web

ROCHESTER, N.Y.–Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has enhanced six software tools within its FreeFlow(R) Digital Workflow Collection, an integrated set of software that streamlines the way print providers handle print jobs.

Key among the upgrades is Xerox’s new Web Services software that provides a Web portal so people can submit and buy print jobs online, known in the print industry as “Web-to-print.”

FreeFlow Web Services 5.0 powered by Press-sense(TM) is the result of technology collaboration between Xerox and Press-sense, a leading developer of business flow automation solutions for the print industry. Press-sense customized its iWay Prime(TM) Web-to-print software for Xerox and ensured the software integrates into the entire FreeFlow Collection, which helps printers achieve short-run printing at lower cost and grow their page volume.

“Nearly 25 percent of the pages printed on high-speed digital color presses arrive via the Web. To be competitive, print providers need a strong Web presence to capture this volume and build customer loyalty,” said Holly Muscolino, director of InfoTrends’ Production Workflow Solutions Consulting Service. “The joint development work between Xerox and Press-sense on FreeFlow Web Services 5.0 creates a complete Web-to-print resource that seamlessly integrates into existing workflows and gives print buyers quick and easy access to print services anytime from anywhere.”
