I3A Presents 2007 Leadership Award to CEO of Eastman Kodak Company

LAS VEGAS- The International Imaging Industry Association (I3A), the leading global association for the imaging industry, has conferred its prestigious annual Leadership Award upon Antonio M. Perez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Eastman Kodak Company. Mr. Perez received the honor at I3A’s yearly Spotlight Reception held Friday evening, March 9, in conjunction with the PMA 2007 conference taking place here last week.

Awarded annually since 1980, I3A’s Leadership Award recognizes those individuals in the international imaging community who have exhibited the exemplary qualities and innovative vision of a leader. Recent recipients of the award include Fumio Iwai of Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc. (2006), Vyomesh Joshi of HP (2005), Shigetaka Komori of Fuji Photo Film Co. (2004), Friedrich Hujer of Agfa-Gevaert (2003), and Philippe Kahn of LightSurf Technologies (2002).

DesignJet Large-Format Printer to Get Ripp’ed

March 11, 2007- Hewlett-Packard has announced the Designjet Z3100ps GP, which adds a PostScript RIP to the large format photo printer, enabling designers to output vector artwork, graphics and text for clients or proofing.

The HP Designjet Z3100ps GP features 12 inks and HP’s DreamColor technology, a certified system of color technologies and sciences that the company says make it easy to produce accurate, predictable and consistent color across a series of digital color devices. The new easy-to-use embedded Adobe PS3/PDF RIP eliminates the need to dedicate a specific computer just for the RIP software and compressing files. Read more

Adobe Unveils Plans for Two Editions of Photoshop CS3

Adobe Stretches the Limits of Digital Imaging with Photoshop CS3 Extended

London — March 8, 2007 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) show that it will expand its digital imaging product line, offering two editions of Adobe® Photoshop® CS3. In addition to the highly anticipated Photoshop CS3 software for designers and professional photographers, Adobe will also deliver Photoshop CS3 Extended, a completely new edition of Photoshop which allows cross-media creative professionals to stretch the limits of digital imaging. Photoshop CS3 Extended includes everything in Photoshop CS3 plus a new set of capabilities for integration of 3-D and motion graphics, image measurement and analysis. Photoshop CS3 Extended also simplifies the workflow for professionals in architecture, engineering, medical and science.

Both Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended software will be formally introduced on March 27, 2007 – as part of the company’s launch of Creative Suite 3, where further details will be disclosed. The software is expected to ship in Spring 2007. Read more
