Package Printers Drive KODAK Digital Prepress Solutions

Sales of KODAK THERMOFLEX Platesetters and KODAK PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow Systems grew significantly in 2006, exceeding previous year totals by more than 40 percent, as package printers seek solutions to increase efficiency and improve color quality.

“The package printing industry is growing and competition is increasing. Our customers are facing business pressures such as condensed cycle times and increased focus on producing colorful packaging that grabs the consumer’s attention,” said Vic Stalam, Director of Market Segments and Vice President, Packaging Products, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “To exceed these expectations and grow their businesses, these printers are turning to KODAK solutions such as the THERMOFLEX Platesetter and PRINERGY POWERPACK Workflow System to turn prepress into a controlled, digital manufacturing process.”

According to NAPL, productivity improvement in the printing industry has lagged the overall nondurable manufacturing sector, growing only half as fast. To grow revenue and increase profit, package printers are looking for consistent, stable, repeatable print that delivers high impact results on the store shelf. Read more

What is new in this release?

inpO2 v.2.0 now offers supports for Acrobat® 8 and Universal Binary, for Mac and PC. Users can thus benefit from increased performance. inpO2 Network is also available. The multi-license packages use the HASP HL Net technology from Aladdin®. A single HASP HL Net key, connected to any computer on your local network, can provide protection to up to 10 concurrent users, on Mac and PC. inpO2 v.2.0 has also been localized in Spanish language with all pertaining documentation, in addition to the French and English versions.

Additional features
inpO2’s new Wizard makes the production of imposition layouts faster and simpler! Entire impositions can be created for Step & Repeat, Cut & Stack, N-up, Perfect Bound and Saddle-stitched job types. The easy and compact Wizard interface displays PDF previews and ensures thorough validation at each step to create imposition layouts that are ready to print.

inpO2 v.2.0 is an even more complete solution then ever as it now supports Cut and Stack pagination algorithm. Plus, new folding templates have been added to the library and now include Step and Repeat and N-Up patterns.

There is no more need to save half sheet templates! The Assembly Manager now allows configuring automatic Work and Turns or Work and Tumbles from regular sheetwise templates. The selected template is repaginated for the half sheet, allowing to print the Front and the Back with the same plate set.

A new inpO2 Profile has reached the already existing Working and Output Profiles: inpO2 Proofing Profile displays a combination of layout items that is best suited when entering in proofing mode.

inpO2 printers’ marks have also been improved! You may now benefit from a new density bar to identify the inks in your imposition plates. Also, inpO2 v.2.0 offers new controls at output (PDF versions and fonts embedding) for better compatibility with RIPs and preflighting systems.

Please note that current inpO2 users must send their C2V file to activation@dynagram.com BEFORE downloading this free upgrade. For more information on inpO2, please visit www.dynagram.com or contact info@dynagram.com.
